  1. Looking at it again. Both sides of the story are self-absorbed arseholes.
    Ernest isn’t quiet because he likes it, but because he wants other to look at him and say “Oh, look, he’s sooo well-behaved and patient!”. He wants them to pay attention to him and notice his behaviour.
    The rest of people in queue they’re absorbed in their little bubbles and won’t notice anything else even if it’s happening right beside them.
    Conclusion: We live in a sea of self-absorbed arseholes. LEL
    Side comment: Extra credit for putting them in queue for a Pink Floyd concert.

  6. I think it’s more about being cool. Cool = Impress = I didn’t even notice the awesome rainbow in the sky cause I was too busy being cool. Why does this remind me of Macbeth, Act 5, Scene 5, lines 24-28? Dunno. There’s something on the other side of the stage and I think it’s called life. 🙂

          1. I have a good memory for what I read. If I read something and I’m interested, I’ll remember.
            If I watch it or hear/listen… chances are that I’ll forget in the following minutes. It must be something *really* outstanding for me to remember. I guess I don’t pay much attention.

          2. I was wrong, it’s Macbeth Act 5
            ‘As you like it’ has a similar passage but with a more lighthearted tone, hence my confusion.
            “MACBETH:
                 She should have died hereafter.
            There would have been a time for such a word.
            Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow,
            Creeps in this petty pace from day to day
            to the last syllable of recorded time,
            And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
            the way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!

              1. How? I had it and I’m not even British.
                If I’m allowed to make a suggestion, go for Richard III and Macbeth as tragedies; As you like it and Midsummer’s night dream as comedies.
                Midsummer’s has an older title, you may find it too, that is “Saint John’s night dream”. It’s the same play, only the title changed for the sake of modern ignorance LEL

  7. tony are you saying patience is a virtue in this strip?,and all good things come to those who wait,in the second strip the 6th character looks like a band member also 3rd strip 5th character looks like ringo starr.what is with the insulant sean connery remark?everyone has an ego it,s how we handle it.ernest should,ve turned around whilst waiting to get to the boxoffice i think i understood this strip.

    1. I love your reaction to some of the characters, Stephen. And as for the Sean Connery remark, that’s in reference to the villain of The Dark Knight Rises who happens to sound a lot like him to me! 🙂
