What amazing facial expressions! I don’t know how you do it! But are the jellies eating Ernest (or his pj’s) or is he eating them?

They’re eating him. That’s why he was so fearful, poor Ernest! And thank you! I rather enjoy drawing the facial expressions of my characters. So much fun!

I don’t think they’re actually eating him, because then he would die. I would rather say it’s gently gnawing him.

Sounds much kinder really, doesn’t it!

I think so. Besides, he doesn’t show any bites or hurts after the events, so I would assume they’re not actually taking pieces of him (morsels?)

Maybe they’re just supping on his soul… 😮

That may explain why he’s depressed at times….
Or maybe they’re tasting him?

Seeing if he’s worthy? Makes sense. 😛

That first line, “people prefer to be lied to”, is perfect! What a great set up for the final two panels when we experience in comedic form the true source of the characters angst.
The laugh out loud beauty of this comic combined with the underlying message of human behavior, expectations and angst is simply brilliant.
There, I said it. BRILLIANT!

That’s high praise, Pamo. Thank you! This strip is certainly meant to have a couple of layers to it so I’m glad that people like yourself are picking up on that!

Great story Tony, I’m with Shakespeare “Life is a tale told by an idiot full of sound and fury but signifying nothing”…but you sometimes just need to do the day and let the day do you. Keep up the good work.

I like that, Paul. Yes, sometimes you really do need to let things be what they will be! 😛

Wow, great mix of funny and serious in this one Tony. I can’t decide whether to laugh or cry but honestly I think that’s a good thing. I might do both. 🙂

Ha ha! Thanks, S.J. I’m glad you picked up on that aspect of the strip. It’s long been evident to me that life can sometimes be both funny AND sad.

I loved this one, thinking it’s a really serious philosophical one (which it is anyway), which just makes the end so much better!
Thank you for your weekly comics 🙂
