In the various approaches I’ve seen people take toward delineating a character (I used to teach fiction writing), preferred weapon has never been mentioned. I love it.

I’ve actually wondered that myself. I’m thinking that whatever age she is, she’s still young, which would possibly account for some of her naiveté.
