Is it weird that this speaks to me in some level? Awesome.

It’s not weird at all, kr. In fact, I was hoping that would be the case! 😀

These are awesome. I imagine these are conversations you have in your head with yourself to some extent? I think about similar things.

Funnily enough, these are. I have all kinds of crazy conversations in my head. When Babe wrote this, I had to wonder if she’d been peering into my mind while I was asleep or something! 😛

So I totally came to comment about the cat calling him a pussy but someone else has already done that. Still, I snickered at that 🙂

It made me snicker when I read it too. I think it was at that point that I knew I had to draw this strip. Babe really went to town on the script for this! 😛

Very fun. More comics should be like this.

There is something about the function of nearly all comics that is just like the function (or effect) that quotes are noted to have in your comic.
LikeLiked by 1 person
I strongly agree with you on this, Gregory. I often wonder why people don’t realise this about comics actually.

They reinforce things as they are – which is often fine, and often laudable (even the best buildings need maintenance), but becomes a problem quite often, especially since there is no pure repetition: keeping things the same, or reinforcing the status quo qua status quo, means one is not paying attention to the drift into difference.
Inattention does not seem to be ever an option in your comics, though. They sometimes seem like slightly-knotty aphorisms that require attention to unpack, but carry an actual yield.

Gregory, I have to confess that it has always been my goal to make the reader do some of the work in terms of the meaning they can derive from my comics. So, yes, I think you summed it up quite nicely there. And it’s a very kind and generous thing of you to say! 🙂

A brilliant look into the social complexities of self-realization, gender issues and the importance of bars in aiding such complexities!

Have you seen Le Chat du Rabbin? It’s an animated french film. I bet you’d like it.
LikeLiked by 1 person
No, I haven’t but I have seen a 1994 German animated film about cats called Felidae. Le Chat du Rabbin looks to be a far more pleasant and less nightmarish affair. I love the idea of a cat that can speak after having swallowed a parrot! 😛

Let me know what you think if you see it. It’s a lot cuter than Felidae looks, but also very philosophical.

Will do. The animation looks gorgeous so I simply must see this!

I so very much enjoyed this exchange – as someone who now has four cats – and the humor and the art. I wish our cats would speak to me more. Usually when I call to them they like to pretend I don’t exist.

Ah ha! Yes, I’m not a big fan of how they tend to ignore me too. Quite hoity-toity of them if you ask me. At least this is one Cat who genuinely likes to talk. 😛

My friend, you ARE a contender. Completely! It’s the colours of your work that really draws me in. You seem to be able to make the white spaces work just as well as the colours in the mix. I don’t know how you have the confidence to do that. I don’t possess that confidence.

Puzzled by the building at the end. I want to call it a cat house but it looks like a prison. Is the bar in the prison-like building? Is the building a metaphor? Oh my head! Such intrigue! Love all the funny touches in the pictures like Murphy’s law and the mounted fish on the wall, the ship in the bottle and the Spam. Your art always makes me pay attention.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Aw, thanks, Susanne! You made my day! As for the building, it’s nothing so sinister. Just a pub by the sea. Granted, the context of the strip doesn’t make that super clear so I’ll have to be more aware of that next time. 😛

My existence is a scab
With bits under my finger nails
What genius a talking cat that drinks and talks
Not knowing more than what it read
And the guy is shit faced without a drink
Every Tuesday,do you want the phone number
It felt like I was there
Great piece
