The Last Hurrah!

I’ve always been a bit of a nervous Nellie. I don’t quite know why. You’d think with all the hard knocks I’ve gotten through life that I would’ve toughened up to some extent. But no. I’ve developed some nervous habits instead. You know… like a sane person.

That’s what Peter and I discuss in this episode of the Crumbcast.

Speaking of which, this is the last Crumbcast we ever recorded together. It was done and dusted many moons ago, and he’s since moved on to greener pastures. I’m still bereft that he and his partner have gone, but they gave me a little skull satchel to remember them by… and so I do. I love that little satchel. It’s very black and skully and awesome. Muggers will have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands!

Anyhoo, I digress. Next episode of the Crumbcast will be back to just me again. Ugh. You unlucky things.

  1. i heard “cannibal” as well, but i am always listening for cannibals…so that might be why. or the damage to my ears by living with four screaming children.
people (& animals) who are on the highly sensitive end of the spectrum, are more likely to develop nervous habits & anxiety because they notice more of the world around them–the world inside them–etc. they also make wonderful artists & are always interesting to talk to (or just to listen to while enjoying a cup of tea & some toast.) ❤

    1. I almost thought I’d read ‘four screaming cannibals’ then, but I quickly realised you’d written ‘children’ (although I sometimes wonder if there’s much of a difference). 😛
Yes, we creatives do tend to notice the outer and inner all too easily, and all at once, like a tsunami of psychological input. Or something. It’s a bit hard to describe, and far too easy to be overwhelmed by.
Thank you so much for visiting. I really enjoy your poems and art. And your art is so very distinctive. You have a pleasing style that’s all your own! 🙂

      1. thank you! ❤
when i was pregnant for the first time, my doctor told me that children "go from being an internal parasite to being an external parasite." four screaming cannibals is a good name for a band.

    1. Aw, I’m pretty sure they’re not the only decent looking part of you! I totally relate to the biting nails bit though. I used to bite mine all the time too! It was quite hard to stop, but I eventually managed to!

    1. Thank goodness, I don’t do that any more. I’m not entirely sure how and why that stopped, but it did. They all grew back too! And thank you for your kind words, ‘cos rambling is pretty much all I can do! 😛

I’m making a virtual notebook of quotes. Yours is going on it. With full credit. Just don’t expect me to look for you too hard to give you many should this go to print, more than likely my hope is it goes towards charity anyway. We all have to have silly dreams.

  4. Wait. I don’t do podcasts. I’m a moron that way. But I love your insightful writing none the less. If you ever transcribe then let me know. Cavewoman out……. And yes by that I mean old (but still hot thank you) 😉

    1. Aw, I suck at transcribing, but I completely appreciate you being upfront about the podcast thing! And thank you for your kind words regarding my writing. How nice of you! And as for hotness, youth certainly does not have the monopoly on that! I’ve seen and met plenty of older women who I would describe as hot! 😛
